As a system developer, you are probably familiar with the following problem: you have found an embedded board with the ideal performance and the right form factor, and now you are missing a single interface to meet all your requirements. M.2 slots are now available on every modern embedded board and offer a space-saving solution with the appropriate expansion card.
We present two new M.2 expansion cards. With the model M2-2213 you can create three additional FireWire interfaces, one according to IEEE1394a standard and two according to IEEE1394b standard. The interfaces allow transfer rates of 100 Mbits/s, 200 Mbits/s, 400 Mbits/s and 800 Mbits/s.
The model M2-225 allows the expansion with an additional Gigabit Ethernet interface. It is equipped with the Intel® Ethernet Controller I225, with which transfer rates of up to 2.5 Gigabit can be achieved.
The M.2 expansion cards are inserted and fixed in the corresponding M.2 slot parallel to the board to save space. The compact cards have dimensions of only 22mm x 30mm x 7mm. The supplied accessories (cable and matching I/O shield) make it easy to bring out the interfaces.
