Windows 10 Pro alternatives
Microsoft has made the sale of the Windows 10 operating system in all consumer editions (Home, Pro and for workstations) cease as of January 31, 2023. This includes the full versions and the versions from the download section of the Microsoft website as well as the so-called OEM or System Builder versions that are sold via the distribution channel. Microsoft will continue to support the software until October 14, 2025, during which time Microsoft will provide regular security updates. Existing installations are therefore not at risk.
Not affected are all Windows 10 IoT Enterprise (industrial licenses) and Windows 10 Enterprise (enterprise volume licenses) versions.
What does Microsoft recommend?
Microsoft recommends Windows 11 as the successor to Windows 10, but it is important to note the strict hardware requirements for Windows 11, which may mean that it is not possible to upgrade from Win10 to Win11 in every case.
Here are some of the necessary requirements:
- Processor generation: 8th Intel Core-i generation or higher.
- Processor: 1 gigahertz (GHz) or faster with 2 or more cores on a compatible 64-bit processor or SoC
- RAM: 4 GB
- Memory: 64 GB minimum
- TPM: Version 2.0
- System firmware: UEFI Secure Boot
- Graphics card: Compatible with DirectX 12 or higher with WDDM 2.0 driver

What alternatives can we offer you?
- If you would like to continue using Windows 10, we can do this with a Windows 10 IoT installation now.
- If you would like to upgrade to Windows 11 and your PC hardware (see above) supports it, there are two options:

(regular automatic security updates; availability 3 years, after that end of support or upgrade to subsequent version) - Windows 11 IoT Enterprise Installation
(regular automatic security updates; availability 36 months, then end of support or upgrade to subsequent version)
